# Set up NDIS Services
When you’re [using organisation services in Comm.care](managing-services.md), if the selected funding source is **National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS),** you need to complete additional information.
This will feed into your Progress Notes and the reports that your Organisation can extract to complete an NDIS Bulk Upload.

Within the National Disability Insurance Scheme sections, you should enter the following fields:
- **Support Category:** Select the category corresponding to the support item number (e.g., **01**_013_0107_1_1 )
- **Area of service:** Select an area in which the service is to be delivered.
- **Support item:** Select one or more support items that define the service. Each selection corresponds to the sequence number in a support item code, such as 01_**013**_0107_1_1. Click **Add** to confirm your choice.

> _**Note:**_ The settings configured here apply to your entire organisation’s service, rather than an individual participant’s service. If you offer different pricing (such as a discount) for the same service across multiple participants, please create a separate service. However, if the discount is a one-time occurrence for a single participant, you may use the existing service and enter the discounted rate when completing the [Progress Notes](../../features/progress-notes/creating-progress-notes.md).
## NDIS Support Items
NDIS Support Items are linked to the official NDIS pricing arrangement.
- **Locked by default**: All items start as locked and apply the latest NDIS pricing arrangement. This means you cannot edit anything. ![[Pasted image 20250916143023.png]]
- **Unlock**: Click the lock icon to make an item editable, then you will have control over the prices, and it's your responsibility to make any necessary price adjustments. ![[help/videos/Comm.care (2).mp4]]
- **Re-lock**: Returns the item to the latest official NDIS price. ![[help/videos/Comm.care (3).mp4]]
- **Global lock/unlock**: Apply the same action to all line items in the service. ![[Comm.care (4).mp4]]
- **Refresh**: Each line item has a refresh icon to update that item only to the latest NDIS pricing arrangement. A "Refresh all Line Items" button updates every line item in the service to the latest NDIS pricing arrangement. ![[Comm.care (5).mp4]]
- **Bulk refresh**: On the Organisation Services screen, the button **“Refresh All NDIS Services Line Items”** updates every NDIS service in the organisation with the latest NDIS pricing arrangement. ![[Pasted image 20250916152542.png]]
## Refresh NDIS Line Items Pricing
When the NDIS releases a new Pricing Schedule, you'll need to update your services to reflect the latest rates. There are three ways to do this depending on how many services you need to update.
> **Note:** Refreshing only works on locked line items. If you've unlocked a line item to set a custom price, it won't be updated — you'll need to re-lock it first to return it to the official NDIS price.
**Refresh all services at once**
On the Organisation Services screen, click **Refresh All NDIS Services Line Items**. This updates every NDIS service in your organisation to the latest pricing in one go — the quickest option when a new Pricing Schedule is released.

**Refresh a single service**
Open the service you want to update, then click **Refresh all Line Items**. This updates every line item within that service to the latest NDIS pricing arrangement.
**Refresh a single line item**
Within a service, click the blue refresh icon (<i class="refresh icon"></i>) next to the individual line item you want to update. Use this when you only need to update one specific line item rather than the whole service.
## Travel time, Report Writing, and Non-Face-to-face charges:
The NDIS allows you to claim fees for travel time and non-face-to-face activities such as Report Writing. Comm.care helps you manage it with ease:
- When you [Add Support Services to Roadmap](../../features/circle-of-care/adding-services-to-roadmap.md), you can select to charge for travel time and a pre-agreed travel time amount related to the Service.
- Each time you [Progress Notes](../../features/progress-notes/creating-progress-notes.md), you can select whether it is Report Writing or Non-Face-to-face support.
- When you [Create a claim or invoice](../../features/invoicing-claims/creating-claims.md) for Report Writing or Non-Face-to-face support, the travel time fee will be set to 0 in order to avoid overcharging your Client.
This simplifies the process of aligning a service in Comm.care with the complex NDIS pricing structures. Consequently, using Comm.care ensures more accurate record-keeping, claims, billing, and reporting.
