# Refresh DSS Status Button When you're working with DSS-funded services on Comm.care, you might notice that the system automatically syncs your participants, roadmaps, and progress notes with the Department of Social Services Data Exchange (DEX). The **Refresh DSS Status** button helps you check the current synchronisation status of these records without leaving the modal you're working in. ## Where to find the Refresh DSS Status button You'll find the **Refresh DSS Status** button in three places: - **Progress Note modals** (for DSS-funded services) - **Roadmap modals** (for DSS-funded roadmaps) - **Participant modals** (when the participant has consented to share details with DSS) The button is located below the **DSS Sync Tracker** table in each of these modals. ![Screenshot showing Refresh DSS Status button](Pasted%20image%2020251217145933.png) ## When to use the Refresh DSS Status button You should click **Refresh DSS Status** when you: - **See an error** in the DSS Sync Tracker table and want to check if it's been resolved - **Notice the status hasn't updated** after making changes to DSS-related information - **Want to verify** that a record was successfully created, updated, or deleted in DEX > _**Note:** Because DEX processes transactions in real-time, you might need to wait a few moments before clicking Refresh DSS Status. If the department's systems are experiencing issues (which happens quite often), you may see error messages in the sync tracker._ ## How to use the Refresh DSS Status button 1. Open the **Progress Note**, **Roadmap**, or **Participant** modal 2. Click the **Refresh DSS Status** button below the **DSS Sync Tracker** table 3. The status will update to show the latest information received from DEX The DSS Sync Tracker table will also show you any error messages or warnings from DEX, so you know exactly what needs to be fixed if something goes wrong. > _**Note:** The system updates the DSS Status automatically when it receives responses from DEX. The Refresh DSS Status button simply lets you manually check for the latest status whenever you need to, especially useful after making changes or when troubleshooting sync issues._
