## Key Concepts
**Client fee for service** = Services the participant pays for directly, rather than through a government funding body. Also referred to as private or fee-for-service.
**Support Item** = A billable line item defined on the Service, with a **name**, **unit of measure (UOM)** and **price** (e.g. "Weekday rate", "Weekend rate")
**Unit of Measure (UOM)** = How an item is charged — hourly rates are calculated from the **time** delivered, per-item rates from the **quantity** delivered
**Structured billing** = The same line-item model already used by NDIS: support items flow from the Service → Appointment → Progress Note → Claim, so amounts are calculated automatically

## Client Fee for Service Workflow in Comm.care
### 1. Organisation Setup
- Create a Client fee for service Service
- Define support items (name, UOM, price)
### 2. Participant Onboarding
- Create the Circle of Care
- Add the Service to the participant's Roadmap
- Set the invoice recipient
### 3. Service Delivery
- Create appointments — support items pre-fill from the Service
- Staff deliver services and create Progress Notes
- Line items pre-populate from the Appointment; confirm time or quantity
### 4. Invoicing
- Create a claim — amounts calculate from the support items by UOM
- Send the tax invoice to the participant for direct payment
- Export claims to MYOB / Xero for reconciliation
